"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8 (NIV)
In southern France, there is a region called “Drôme Nord” (the north of the Drôme) with a population of around 160,000 and no Evangelical church. Many people living in the area have to drive over 30 minutes to reach their local church.
Alain, one of OM’s network ambassadors in France, has a desire to see a church planted in this area, and so he called on OM to run a Tous Témoins (We’re all witnesses) training day.
The goal was to run a one-day programme that included Bible teaching, worship, prayer and practical outreach training to equip local believers who share Alain's dream of making an impact in their community. Capucine and Eric, from the OM team, helped plan and run the event, which emphasised that outreach is not about “doing evangelism” for a day or a week, but adopting a Christ-like approach and living out your faith every day, to have a long-term impact.
After the morning programme and an enjoyable lunch together, it was time to put what was taught during the training into practice. Twenty believers went out to be Christ's witnesses in their community.
Please pray for Eric, the leader of ministry in the least-reached regions of France, as he strives to make meaningful connections in these spiritually deprived areas that will lead to fruitful ministry opportunities.
Please pray for Alain and the other believers in the Drôme Nord to be faithful in their day-to-day witness, and that God will give wisdom to those considering the possibility of church planting.
Please also pray for new long-term team members for OM who have the vision and perseverance to commit to a work which takes a long time and is slow to produce fruit.
